An Autumn Movement Workshop with Jessica Lerner
Hwb y Gors, Cwmgors
Join artist and choreographer Jessica Lerner for a one-day exploration of dance, movement improvisation, and choreographic process in the beautiful new Hwb y Gors studio — a warm, light-filled space with a sprung wooden floor and underfloor heating.
As winter draws in and light slows across the valley, we’ll tune in to what is present in our bodies — sensing anatomy, emotion, and imagination as sources of movement. Through guided explorations and improvisations, we’ll move between stillness and flow, mapping our interior landscapes in connection with others, the architecture, and the wider environment.
In the afternoon, Jess will share aspects of her performance practice: setting movement scores, identifying resonant actions, and developing short choreographic ideas through reflection, drawing, or writing.
Jessica’s workshops balance depth and play, encouraging curiosity, embodied awareness, and connection.
Open to all with some experience or open to improvised movement.
Please wear loose, comfortable layers; we’ll spend time moving on the floor. Bring a yoga mat or blanket for warmth if you wish.
